dsaur
Friend just told me snowing small flakes but lots of them and accumulating with ease on I 285 NW corner and on Cobb Parkway. People having trouble getting up hill at Windy Hill. After a lot of rain, then one of the famous Griffin dry slots, I've had enough snow grains to call it a dusting out there. How's things with the zr. You still dreading it? Or is it going to be lighter? T
strongwxnc
YES!! I Forest City now and I see nothing yet. Just glad to know it is reaching the ground/. honeygrl
If you're east of Atlanta trust me... Get off the roads folks! It's still above freezing over here to the east so I don't think anything will stick for us for a few hours. It just now started very lightly snowing. packbacker
Birmingham is a legit disaster. People stranded, cars parked in roads, etc. Snowjam. James Spann called for a couple flakes last night... What happened? Were they thinking it was going to be warmer or something?
Steven_1974
Birmingham is a legit disaster. People stranded, cars parked in roads, etc. Snowjam. James Spann called for a couple flakes last night... Sounds like the 2005 half inch snow nightmare in Raleigh. Some folks took 15 hours to get home. dsaur
In Ga. the only time to be out on the roads now is after midnight, lol. The crazies are in the hospital, or got home, by then and you can be the only crazy on the road. And for those of you new to Atlanta, it is a city of hills, and no matter how good you are in snow, you won't make a lot of these hills It happens every time, and when you are salty you know to stay home until late at night. superjames1992
What happened? Were they thinking it was going to be warmer or something? They just weren't supposed to get any snow (too far north). The RAP nailed it, though, and showed a good stripe across the area and up into northern Alabama. With temperatures in the upper teens down there, that 1-2" of snow is a real mess. It's kind of like Raleigh's deal in 2005, as Steven notes. Marion_NC_WX
Light snow falling with the intensity gradually picking up, 23 degrees...dusting on the ground. Greer Doppler isn't picking up the lighter snow here in Western North Carolina...a sign of the lack of moisture content. However the arctic airmass is doing the work.
