Least precipitation from March 1-20: 1969: 0.11” 1994: 0.15” 1883: 0.22” 1910: 0.24” 1914: 0.26” 1981: 0.27” 1958: 0.29” 1911: 0.30” 1916: 0.34” 1889: 0.39” With 0.13" month to date and little/no precip in the next 4 days, very good chance that ORD gets into this top 3. 1969 actually had a nice rally beginning on the 24th and the month ended with just under 2"
Hoosier
Another one related to the dry stretch... Most consecutive days without measurable precipitation in March. This also includes streaks that began in February and ended in March, as well as streaks that began in March and ended in April. The longest streak contained entirely within the month of March is the 1918 streak that lasted 16 days. Through March 16, ORD has had 13 consecutive days without measurable precipitation. 3/11/1999-4/3/1999: 24 days 3/30/1887-4/19/1887: 21 days 2/27/1910-3/18/1910: 20 days 3/29/2004-4/16/2004: 19 days 2/17/2006-3/4/2006: 16 days 3/15/1918-3/30/1918: 16 days 2/21/1988-3/6/1988: 15 days (leap year) 3/25/1925-4/8/1925: 15 days 3/3/1930-3/16/1930: 14 days 2/18/1901-3/3/1901: 14 days 3/7/1887-3/20/1887: 14 days 3/6/1958-3/18/1958: 13 days 2/27/1936-3/10/1936: 13 days (leap year) 2/24/1928-3/7/1928: 13 days (leap year) 2/26/1911-3/10/1911: 13 days
Hoosier
System tomorrow night seems to have trended north. Streak of days without measurable precipitation could be on the line, but not all models are on board with precip occurring so we'll see.
Hoosier
No measurable precip overnight, and with no precip coming today, this will be the 17th consecutive day without getting anything measurable. Looks like a dry day tomorrow and then a chance to break it on Sunday/Monday.
Hoosier
0.01" precip in the past hour at ORD, so the streak without measurable precipitation comes to an end.
