Voyager
Itll even out one day, let us enjoy it I'm not saying you shouldn't get it, I'm saying we should also. The past few years especially, we've been on the wrong end of sharp cut-offs. It evens out by the extra events you get up there and the events which are rain further south and east. Since I've been here, most times we flip as well. The only thing we end up with is maybe 3-4 inches of slush and slop. Looks like it's not interested in crossing the Susquehanna. Don't worry, it'll probably reform over the Lehigh Valley...

stemwinder
I just went out and measured a few open surfaces. 1.5+" here between W. Windsor and Princeton. Snow is definitely "wetter" than the last one. Still beats the slop we often get.

Don't worry, it'll probably reform over the Lehigh Valley... I feel for you. I'm halfway between you and Philly. I know I've gotten more of the big ones than you, but I also get annoyed at the sharp cutoffs as I am often on the wrong side as well. ? Were you at your current location during the blizzard of 93'? (March 13, 1993 I think) We changed over to heavy sleet for several hours over here in Eastern Berks, and still got about 20" of 'stuff" measured. (not sure how much was snow and what was sleet) I would think and hope you did much better during that one. (not sure if you were there at the time) We need some 1994 type winters mixed in with these 2010 type winters! (that way we'd all get good winters once in awhile) When I was growing up in the 80's and into the 90's I remember many storms with slow changeovers that being north and west really paid off for. Since the 2000's it's been crazy, most of the time I've cashed in it's been due to elevation rather than a NW moving rain/snow line. The only constant is change though.......I'm sure those days will return. EDIT: Oops this is an obs thread. About 2.2 here.....hopefully we get some snow showers with the front to top it off. KamuSnow
Going to go outside and see if there's any snow from the band that's aiming this way. Update at 10:27 - nothing from the front part of it - can see what looks like snow clouds off to the north. Might get something from the back end of it. RU848789
Ended up getting 1.5" in Metuchen, right in line with NWS predictions - looking at the reports, the Philly office did a great job, with a general 1-2" snowfall, as predicted, for most locations and some areas with up to 3". Local roads were pretty slippery this evening and even roads like 27 and Route 1 were a bit slushy - don't think most towns sent crews out.
