Bryan
Now in a WSW! Never expected this at all. Nice surprise after days of agony watching storms pass us by.
NorEastermass128
Jerry, we should get into that band. That band means business...could drop another 1-2" eastern sections...should be lots of 2.5" - 4" totals in the Cambridge, Brookline, Dorchester neighborhoods. TalcottWx
Looks to me like S Shore out to the Western Cape is about to get severely crushed. Maybe a small piece here? http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=pan&prevzoom=zoom&num=6&frame=0&delay=15&scale=1.000&noclutter=0&ID=BOX&type=N0R&showstorms=0&lat=0&lon=0&label=you&map.x=400&map.y=240&scale=1.000¢erx=400¢ery=240&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0&lightning=0&lerror=20&num_stns_min=2&num_stns_max=9999&avg_off=9999&smooth=0 I'm finally outdoing you and scott by a bit for a change.... this band will make our totals interesting. ScituateWX
Snow picked up here in the last few hours maybe just about 3 inches here now, of course I just spent the better part of an hour putting the plow on and then wrestling all the counter weight into the back of the truck disastah for sure. I am sure thats the best thing to be doing with a herniated disc in my back , gona chill out for a while and then head out and get after it with the snow plow! weatherMA
ACROSS EASTERN MA...WIDESPREAD LIGHT SNOW WAS BACKING IN OFF THE OCEAN. THE 12Z ECMWF MODEL SEEMS TO BE PICKING THIS UP THE BEST...BUT EVEN IT MAY BE UNDERDONE. WE ARE GOING WITH 2 TO 3 INCHES FROM BOSTON ONTO THE NORTH SHORE. WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S IT WILL STICK ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS...SO HAVE DECIDED TO HOIST A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN THIS REGION. WILL CONTINUE THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES FROM PLYMOUTH AND SOUTHERN BRISTOL COUNTIES. ITS POSSIBLE THAT PORTIONS OF EASTERN PLYMOUTH COUNTY MAY HIT WARNING CRITERIA...ESPECIALLY NEAR THE CAPE COD CANAL. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS POTENTIAL THROUGH THE NIGHT. As we thought. They're even going with an inch or 2 out here.

CoastalWx
That firehose of moisture is aiming right at the Cape too. BOS may be on the northern edge, but we may see more elements develop behind the main band.

MaineJayhawk
Commute home took 2hrs 15 minutes ... normal day it's 50 minutes. Accidents aplenty, heavy heavy snow, wind blowing the heavy heavies sideways. Awesome. I see vis at PWM was down to 1/4 mile. I'm surprised it was that good. Got 1" on the ground at home, looked to be more like 2 or 3" in PWM when I was passing through.

Yeah wv last night was telling. You knew something was up when colder cloud tops were developing and rotating west. I can't believe the mid level frontogenesis band came this far west. Awesome. HoarfrostHubb
One of the stories on Boston.com was on how folks were unprepared for one to two inches. LOL Should always be prepared. It snows in New England If this had wobbled 25 miles east we would be ignoring this. I would imagine some buoys are showing good winds/waves? Not too often does this occur... blown call inside 48 hours. I can't remember the last time a call of 1-2" turned out to be this much off. Even I'm now pegged for 2-3"
