The real deal will be the developments now moving north. Do they get here as the NAM/GFS want us to believe?

That is what I have been thinking about as well cweat. I mean, it is very close already. nantucket is about 35 miles across the Sound from where I live so we are missing the giant deformation band to the southeast by about 20-30 miles.

It's funny looking at the Euro... if that band sets up 30 miles west of where the model has it... ACK/CHH get smoked all day tomorrow too.

One could only hope, but the way the last few years have gone, I would say I could be sitting at 36f with light rain, while Nantucket is 30f with heavy wind driven snows tomorrow.

There definitely is a surface low to the south of Nantucket, MA. Pretty close to the region as well. Cooling cloud tops are approaching with that moderate to heavy band to the south of the region. Based on satellite imagery that band should make it up towards the Cape. Depends on where the pivot point is will determine if we can get a day's worth of snowfall from a significant band.

Looks like the temps on the cape are all AOA freezing. Grassy surfaces ftw?

At 34f with about an inch of very compacted snow. Still sn-. If we had gone below frezzing we would be up around 5", I suspect. It changed to all(wet snow)after the Pats win.

nice! i figure anywhere away from the immediate water is doing decently but they really need those 30dbz to accumulate i would imagine. and accumulate potentially well.

i would like someone to pull a nice number out down there. they look to be under it for a while tonite.

This friggin sandbar is so small it doesn't matter if you are one meter or one kilometer away from the water, especially when the wind is blowing. The wet snow just melts as fast as it accumulates when above about 28f(salt water's freezing temp). Actually we have about an inch on the colder surfaces right now. :snowman:

Yeah that's nuts for a major city. That would put Boston into a state of emergency.

I'm not sure. They do well with snow removal here. However that much is insane. They (Boston) have on several occasions received mid 40s in a month.

what a nightmare...had to take the baby back to the hospital via 911 last night.

12 hrs later situation seems OK.

at least we got some good snow falling...looks like 1-2". roads covered.

Good luck Phil and family

:( Damn, thinking about you all and hope all will be ok.

Saw lots of snow covered cars this AM coming up I-495. Snow must have ended just after my 0.1" eyeball last night, since it looks like the same this morning. Just enough to lightly frost everything.

Hope all is ok Phil. Get through these first weeks and things should settle into a rhythm. At least there's :snowman:

Phil best wishes.

...

winter of pain continues. I got nothing overnight followed by light nothing this am. Ruc did a good job I think. Had some snizzls shi% to the west but nothing worthwhile west of Hyannis.

Boston should break the streak

You should have gotten something. Even I did and I am on the periphery of the QPF. Looke like it started snowing at PYM around 6pm last night and has continued ever since.
