40/70 Benchmark
Looks like the EURO would give the cape about 2-4" if it's cold enough.
CT Rain
It's funny looking at the Euro... if that band sets up 30 miles west of where the model has it... ACK/CHH get smoked all day tomorrow too. edit: if it's cold enough lol
CCPSUSuperstorm2010
The real deal will be the developments now moving north. Do they get here as the NAM/GFS want us to believe? http://radar.weather...101111&loop=yes That is what I have been thinking about as well cweat. I mean, it is very close already. nantucket is about 35 miles across the Sound from where I live so we are missing the giant deformation band to the southeast by about 20-30 miles. One could only hope, but the way the last few years have gone, I would say I could be sitting at 36f with light rain, while Nantucket is 30f with heavy wind driven snows tomorrow. Logan11
Let us know what the Euro does with the inverted trough when it is out that far. More like the GFS or the NAM/GGEM? Yeah that could be a huge tease..lol.

CCPSUSuperstorm2010
There definitely is a surface low to the south of Nantucket, MA. Pretty close to the region as well. Cooling cloud tops are approaching with that moderate to heavy band to the south of the region. Based on satellite imagery that band should make it up towards the Cape. Depends on where the pivot point is will determine if we can get a day's worth of snowfall from a significant band.
CoastalWx
extreme se mass and the Cape seem like they'll have some fun tonight.
Bryan
Seems like the snow is pushing its way up through SE Mass right now, just got back into a decent rate of snow after flurries for an hour or so. Pretty impressive although its nothing compared to what we thought it'd be a couple of days ago.

ackwaves
Looks like the temps on the cape are all AOA freezing. Grassy surfaces ftw? At 34f with about an inch of very compacted snow. Still sn-. If we had gone below frezzing we would be up around 5", I suspect. It changed to all(wet snow)after the Pats win.
amarshall
I'd say about half of the cars on the expressway this morning had between a dusting to an inch on them.
ackwaves
nice! i figure anywhere away from the immediate water is doing decently but they really need those 30dbz to accumulate i would imagine. and accumulate potentially well. i would like someone to pull a nice number out down there. they look to be under it for a while tonite. This friggin sandbar is so small it doesn't matter if you are one meter or one kilometer away from the water, especially when the wind is blowing. The wet snow just melts as fast as it accumulates when above about 28f(salt water's freezing temp). Actually we have about an inch on the colder surfaces right now. weathafella
While we all lose sleep and peer incessantly at lights for the hint of flakes ponder this: Syracuse has had 70.9 inches of snow SO FAR this month. 19 days, 71 inches. CCPSUSuperstorm2010
I would say about 2" maybe here in Hariwch, MA. It is wet as wet snow can be right now. bands are just sitting to the east of the Cape, they don't want to move any further west.

weathafella
Yeah that's nuts for a major city. That would put Boston into a state of emergency. I'm not sure. They do well with snow removal here. However that much is insane. They (Boston) have on several occasions received mid 40s in a month.

Damn, thinking about you all and hope all will be ok. Saw lots of snow covered cars this AM coming up I-495. Snow must have ended just after my 0.1" eyeball last night, since it looks like the same this morning. Just enough to lightly frost everything.
