BlizzardNole
For Loudoun County, this is our 6th 3 plus inch snowfall since last March 2 in March 2 in December 2 in January I like these kind of winters where you get several moderate to significant events. I-83 BLIZZARD
damn, new public statement has a 10 report like a mile from my house...I measured 10.75 but there was blowing so hard to tell how accurate. Wgal reported 10 inches in Shrewsbury which is your next door neighbor and mine. Sparky had 10.75. Elevation and banding for the win.
usedtobe
My report never made it into the PNS even though I reported it last night. I guess extreme northern Calvert doesn't county.

snowfan
I measured around a few different spots that were all a bit above 6 although I admit that I ended up writing down 7 since there was an NWS employee report of 7 from just a mile or so up the road. Yorkpa25
Northern neighbor here from Lancaster Co Pa. I received 5" of snow from .43" of liquid which is about 12:1 I was expecting a better ratio but it is what it is. How is .40 liquid to 10 inches or snow a 40-1 ratio. That would be 16 inches. Sounds more like 25-1 ratio. Somebody needs to go back to math class. Unless I'm the idiot. Anybody agree?

Bob Chill
What does zwyts mean anyways? I've always been curious. I'm pretty good with unusual acronyms and slang but not wirh this one. Also, how do you pronounce Ji? I'm my mind's voice it's J.I. But it could be gee or hi. Could be unstablesnowweenie as well.
ravensrule
zwyts goes back to the early aol days when I couldnt find a SN...everything I tried was taken...so I angrily swiped my hand across the keyboard and that is what came up....it's been in use for 20 years Ji is Jay Eye. Though some call him Gee since it is short for Jihad. He changed his real name to Jay (imagine trying to get jobs with the name Jihad), but kept Ji..variations have been Ji-Iad and JiLol But with Jihad hate em he would have gotten a great job. Should have kept the name.

My name is a nick name I got tagged wirh 20 years ago. My circle of friends never even call me Bob. It's either Bob chill or just chill Nothing to do with weather though. I'm just relaxed most of the time. I had Ji right in my brain and that's some funny history too. He's an amusing person so the history is fitting

But you never thought trolls would call you usedtube or you may have reconsidered. Actually Ji has called you much worse so it's probably a fine screen name. Fozz
My user name came from a name some jock in high school sometimes called me. Very popular, well-built and athletic, and when he got to know me better he'd call me Foss or Fozz. By the time I signed up on Eastern, which was shortly after high school, I went with Fozz for my screen name.
RodneyS
I agree -- IAD's ratio is an absurd 42.5. I think its snow total is too high and its precipitation total is too low. Consider these widely varying ratios among the three major area airports from the reported snow and precipitation amounts: DCA: 3.8 inches of snow, 0.18 inches of precipitation, ratio 21.1 to 1. IAD: 8.5 inches of snow, 0.20 inches of precipitation, ratio 42.5 to 1. BWI: 5.3 inches of snow, 0.42 inches of precipitation, ratio 12.6 to 1. Only BWI's numbers look correct. Also, with respect to IAD, I live less than five miles to the east and received only about 5 inches of snow. I see that IAD's precipitation amount has been upgraded to 0.56 inches, but the snow total remains 8.5 inches. I suppose that's possible, but it's odd that the totals reported by several observers near Dulles were significantly lower.
