This band is awesome! Wes, its heading your way.

I know it's got me excited. My friend buzz called all discouraged about an hour ago and I told him I thought it was backbuilding and we'd see our 4 inches and I had not seen the band that has developed.  Looks to me like another inch is conservative.  Love me some big vort snow.

colora cecil county just got to 10 inches superband earlier put down 4 in 2 hrs! prob another 2

My question is does the heavier bands around DC and Baltimore slide up into Cecil? or across the bay? I cant tell. One minute i think i see the direction its moving the next im second guessing myself. any trained eyes looking at this?

1.5" since 5pm. 5.5" and dumping. 6" is now in play.

Very high ratio snow. If your going to measure do it soon. It will either quickly settle or blow away if you wait too long.

It definitely settles and compacts.  I had 4+" at 3pm, cleaned off my car and have another ~2.5" on my car as of 6pm.  But when I measure on the grass (well, when I did an hour ago) it was still just under 6".

Was out there...took a nice walk up 16th and then back down 14th.  It's wonderful in the city when it actually snows here.

I'm always jealous of you city folk when it gets really snowy.  It's just different strolling around in the Suburbs, much rather be walking around downtown.

Compaction also is impacting me here I think. Measurements have only been creeping up even during the big bursts. I'm thinking I'm probably 6-7 in reality despite measuring in the 5-6 range.

It really is something special about it.  Took the iphone, listen to Holst's The Planets (Jupiter) and just walked around...all the lights on the buildings and you can see the snow just pouring.

SICK, SICK band! Heavy snow pouring down, snow is up to 4 inches deep, all the wild onions in the back yard are covered up. We are getting demolished! If this is what was annihilating Frederick MD earlier I can see why they hit 9-10 inches. Its 20 degrees with really great snow to water ratios in one hell of a sick band!

Absolutely perfect outside.

I timed a 40 minute walk just as the best rates came in. Nothing's better than trekking through your neighborhood while heavy snow is falling and the wind is whipping everything around (not to mention seeing the cool dunes made by it as well). I only wish I had a camera with me to take pictures of everything.

Obs:

Temp: 15

Heavy Snow

(unsure of measurement, too much drifiting for accurate measurement.

 We are giddy.

You should be excited if it holds together.   When it arrives I need you to go out,  have Mrs. Junker take a pic of you making a snow angel and then post it.

That has as much chance of happening as me winning the lotto.  I am excited as this makes CWG look good and we'll have plenty of snow to really affect minumum temps the next two days and of course, I really like heavy snow.  If I get 5 inches I'll have had two this year.
