snowfan
Wes might get attacked on CWG, but I haven't seen him get attacked on this board. 99% of this board holds great respect for Wes and the knowledge he brings. Maybe I just don't see it..... As for the debbie downer view on things.....it's perfectly fine, but when its done post after post after post it gets real old real fast. Stormpc
Im getting a really nice burst. Heading toward DC. Mix of dendrites and mangles, sheared flakes. Radar has one more pulse left it in to the SW it seems. Probably cuts off by 8pm

Wes doesn't get attacked much on CWG. Most readers respect his stuff. Occasionally an uninformed troll will come along, but all in all we have a civil readership - esp compared to other WaPo blogs. stormtracker
why do you think JB, JB2, DT etc have a million followers? people don't want to learn...they want Blizzard of 1899 references dropped left and right... Well yeah, of course. Wes catches a lot of shyt with his CWG articles but that is due to rampant stupidity from uninformed readers I know he catches grief there...I see the stupidity in the comments section. You're right about people not wanting to learn. When you have a hobby you love you should want to become as knowledgeable as possible about the subject. Perhaps they refuse to learn. feloniousq
Wow IAD just reported 5.8. They should loan their slantstick to DCA. I don't think I have 5 let alone 5.8 and I can almost see the runway from my house.

NorthArlington101
superband is expanding into metro area. won't obviously be as super but we really should hit another inch tonight. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=zoom&num=6&delay=15&rbscale=0.125&scale=0.287&noclutter=0&ID=LWX&type=N0R&lat=0&lon=0&label=you&showstorms=0&map.x=491&map.y=149¢erx=400¢ery=97&lightning=0&smooth=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=1&MR=
DDweatherman
Do whatever you want Matt, in the end you bring good insight to the table. I don't get offended when someone with less ability to interpret the models/situation calls me out on something. Either they're making an irresponsible statement, or just misinterpreting something. Overall, the north trend call is more about the truth, not being a downer. People need to understand that. Radar is indeed looking a bit better for you btw. Joshfsu123
actually looking really sweet for my corner of the world, I'm getting fringed by deathband + fairly consistent dark greens from the SW. i should grab another inch what I am thinking as well here in Navy Yard... that band should last an hour or so, as the stuff NW pushes SE/E... with the ratios, could see another half inch to inch... could get DC (or at least most of us) to the 4 inch mark or so. Occasionally an uninformed troll will come along, but all in all we have a civil readership - esp compared to other WaPo blogs. he catches grief here all the time when he isnt bullish...even with his track record....I am completely self-taught (which includes learning from others)...I have no science background....I probably couldnt pass a basic physics class....a lot of people here arent interested in learning anything (though many are),...they are here for the chase...to win the lottery and facts, and reality just get in their way... WxUSAF
I think everyone gets 1"+ with that band. If DC folks have ~3", that band should push most to 4"+ I'd guess. Then probably done.
Amped
Just measured outside my place and got 6" in 5 different spots. Went about 100 yards down and measured 9", so guess I live in a microscopic screw zone. Also measured a north facing wall corner drift over 20".
