Agreed. Snow is petering out in PW county. Definitely an underperformer. Will be interesting to compare everyone's final amount of qpf with what was modeled. Like someone said this morning and yesterday, with these coastal transfers it's hard to predict amounts.

North and west areas just can't be denied this winter. P sure most areas up that way will meet or exceed climo after this one

Leesburg is definitely the biggest loser from this storm based on wasted potential

The heaviest snow set up only a few miles further west than me too. So Leesburg to Purcellville seems to be a much lighter spot.. some meso situation. I dunno - still pretty.. Snow blower will be going after I finish up 3 more things for work!

You often get sinking air near bands so little dry holes form around them etc. My snow has been consistently better than it looks on radar right next to it tho.

You never want to be too close to the larger liquid drop offs. DC look fine at this pt but glad we aren't any further south.

Yep, that final 50 miles looks to possibly be used up today.... although, sometimes we do arrive at the original forecast amount in unexpected ways, after it all looked like a bust... like 12/11/89, 2/25/05, 2/28/05, 3/1/09, 2/9-10/10, and many more.

There still should be a N-S oriented band extending well into VA early evening..

Lol. It's sleeting. I'm enjoying my brown grass too. Atleast the temp has drop from a half a degree since 6 this morning.

sorry to hear that but from our perspective up here, it's probably a good sign as it shows a surge in warm air aloft that will result in increased precip up here

you should turn back, though, so hang in there
