Mikehobbyst
Looks like potential to stay below 32 F until 2/4 to 2/6. This could be longest below freezing streak in record potentially for the NYC area. Wonder if NYC gets 40-45 inches of snow on the ground by 2/5/14. Mets and others discuss what you see down the road. The pattern really supports this strongly. I bet we end and snap the cold pattern around 2/10 with a NESIS 4 HECS blizzard. The only positive is the sun just started its rapid increase of its daily noon declination, assuring us we will be done w/ this in 4-6 weeks if it kept going straight wire to wire Arctic cold and snow. uncle W
it probably won't happen but we will see our share of cold and snow the next two weeks...
chietanen
Long range GFS for up here has low 30's on Friday and Saturday 1/31-2/1, but every other day through 2/6 is below 30. Should be a fun period.

Oh, no! You're buying into the "sun angle issue" notion too for February?! That's like saying a guy/girl entering his 30s automatically becomes physically unattractive due to his age.
