This band moving in is weak sauce, no good lift currently, don't know what's wrong, perhaps its because of the mega band over SE MA, RI and CT.

Wouldn't be surprising if it had some effect. Usually where there is mesoscale lift there will also be neighboring mesoscale subsidence.

Congrats on the bombogenesis hitting you. At least according to NBCNews. I think the national network NBC is my early nomination for weenie of the year.

8.7 degrees at the WFO, thickening cirrus.

Should we inform them it's frontogenesis or is it too soon to give them another term?

I noticed it snowed hard for 15-20 mins after radar showed it lofting north. See this sometimes I've noticed with dry snow and strong low level winds

KBOX is nearly 3000 feet at that range, so absolutely 25 knots winds can "push" the snow to the south of the visible band on radar.

That's for next week. A frontogenesis will target the East Coast.

wait....not a polar vortexical frontobomb?!!

hey when does that piece of energy hit the coast.  Will be interesting to see what happens with the snowfall rates and coverage.  Maybe that is when we actually get a little snow up here?  I think we've been upped from 1-2 to 1-3.   :lmao:
