Rib
Can someone post the totals when the GFS gets past the storm? The GFS being more aggressive than the NAM? I am confuse.

IsentropicLift
The GFS almost weakens the banding over the area. The area of heavier QPF doesn't appear to shift much NE, it just shrinks. Not sure what to make of that.

WE GOT HIM
Gfs looks like a small bump in precip in nyc and a little less on li this run
Allsnow
.50+ for everyone, except far nw jersey
anthonyweather
That's asinine. No one will see 25:1 Give reasoning 25:1 is unrealistic . I'd say 15:1 with 20:1 once the heavy stuff moves out
IsentropicLift
0.50"+ contour makes it to about KMMU, very similar to 18z up this way.

REDMK6GLI
According to that mal and my thinking jersey shore onto LI up to coastal CT with atleast 15:1 ratios 12"+ will be common place i think. Also thundersnow as well during the heaviest banding is a good bet
jm1220
That's a 1" liquid spot from NYC east? Wow, this run went ballistic.

earthlight
Those maps have to be wrong...that's gotta be the .75" contour. Still impressive.
Superstorm93
So incredibly jealous it's not even funny. Enjoy this guys. If your going to take something away from the runs so far tonight, it's that there will be a large area of precip with an embedded death band that will wobble and tilt. This will ultimately crush many folks with 10-14" and leave other with maybe half that. Using GS4 Tapatalk
Stormlover74
Ewr/NYC around .6"..not sure why that map shows 1"+
WintersGrasp
I was kind of expecting this run to be a little more bombed, but, I am not bummed. Solid hit
earthlight
Looking at the zoomed in NE view, this run got wetter within the banding and expanded it northwest a bit at 24 hr.
PB GFI
Those maps have to be wrong...that's gotta be the .75" contour. Still impressive. That should read .75 , shouldn`t it ? that's 15 inches there if thats right

Not sure what to make of that. I wouldn't get so caught up in the QPF. The bottom line is that the gfs is a great hit around this area, perhaps higher ratios are showing less reflectivity. Not a weenie statement to figure that out, the banding is going to be insane on LI. 12"+ LI here we come!

Rib
Almost 1,900 people currently on AMEX right now. I think the unusually warm air that has invaded us at times during this winter is also helping to not allow the pattern to suppress these storms.
