odwalla
NAM shortwave even so early on looks more robust. Crazy comparing hr 3 vs. 09 from 18z -- you are very correct. This run should be mayjah.

IsentropicLift
Not quite as good as the 18z GFS or the SREF but still good, especially for NYC and the coast. Probably a compromise between the 18z NAM and the 18z GFS.

Heisy
Maybe I'm off my rocker here but so far this doesn't look to be coming any further NW than 18z. Not sure what you're looking at, its much better than 18z
IsentropicLift
As many have said, the best banding is usually 20-30 miles NW of where modeled, so that puts most of NNJ in play I would think.

WintersGrasp
This is the best NAM run yet. Most likely 8-12" for EVERYONE
IsentropicLift
At hour 30 the best banding is missing Cape Cod, looks like the low becomes vertically stacked.
IsentropicLift
You need new legs on that rocking chair sir. Yeah the precip field was definitely better, despite the track of the low remaining the same, or close to previous runs. I guess my expectations were just higher after seeing the SREF.
