BuffaloWeather
we might verify in the comma head which looks very nice Snowfall amounts will not bust, winds were not forecast to get above 35 mph until later this afternoon.

vortmax
Not too worried about KROC totals...we always get the most snow on the back end of these types of systems with lake enhancement kicking in. As those temps drop, the lake will really start contributing...
DeltaT13
I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic, but it really looks like the Niagara Frontier ---> ROC could possibly be the pivot point as the comma head tightens. A real nice position indeed!

OSUmetstud
I was trying to figure out if that was sleet. I thought it was more snow pellets from poor snow growth and some instability aloft.
CNY_WX
Closing in on 6 inches here. Snow was wet to start but is getting drier as the temperature falls. Down to 27. Wind is picking up, too.

WNash
I didn't see any sleet in N Buffalo from the time the winter weather started early this AM. The harder layer here is the higher water content snow that fell before the temps dropped. But it's possible that the warm air didn't make it up this far. the minister
POURING snow with HUGE flakes just now in Spencer, NY. I'm a few miles below Ithaca, but I'm way up on a hill, so I'm sure that's helping. It's on!

When I was making my deliveries on elmwood at about 1130am there was some harder pellets mixing in. I'm not sure it true sleet, though.

OSUmetstud
It's been snowing very lightly here the last 30 to 45 minutes...most likely an area of subsidence between the 2 heavy bands.
LakeEffectKing
where else would it go Isn't there a site that puts together the Candian and US radars together? I see it on TWC once in awhile. But yeah, that band (however strong it is) will have to pivot through. Just south of ROC looks good for max pivot totals.
