RutgersWx92
Just measured 9 inches in Piscataway. Just a half hour before that my friend measured 8 so that's two inch per hour rates we're getting. Temp is 12.
amv1017
Measured between 8-10 inches in spots in my yard. Don't know how accurate. Anybody else measure in the Whitestone area?

SnowGoose69
E-NJ and perhaps NYC are gonna get the shaft big time, they're gonna get into that band only for a small window while LI will probably spend as much time in it as N-CNJ did
winterwx21
Just measured 9 inches in Piscataway. Just a half hour before that my friend measured 8 so that's two inch per hour rates we're getting. Temp is 12. I just measured 9 inches as well. On radar you can see the band of heavy snow collapsing southeast, so we don't have too much longer to go. But an awesome storm.
SnowGoose69
Central Park dead on par with EWR this time 7.6 inches as of 7pm...they need to investigate the clown who was measuring in the 1/3 event...or not measuring at that...
tim
Bit of a break for past like 15-20 min., but picking back up now ..wondering if we will get into that banding.? that dry area keeps popping up(off the south fork) snow has been mostly light to mod..still got about 8" though.. BL03
Was thinking about this too.. needs to slow down right now. Yeah I see that but there's also still a lot more coming up from the southwest so we'll see what happens. Would love to get to a foot and I think it's within reach. WeatherFox
I measured ~8" in Whitestone, New York at 7:30 PM. It's coming down moderately to heavy imo.

This is a bit shaky. The H5 is going negative now, so maybe NYC could get back into the action. Let's see what happens next.

nycwinter
there should be more than one official measurement temp station in nyc than central park..you can be near the upper east side and have more snow than central park..in fact earlier a trained spotter reported 5 inches at the northern end of central park while at the zoo only had 3.5.. NEXtreme
I just measured 9 inches as well. On radar you can see the band of heavy snow collapsing southeast, so we don't have too much longer to go. But an awesome storm. Band or no band you are still gonna get more accumulating snow. More bands can still fire up to the west as I see some trying now on Radarscope.
Dino
Snow is changing from a smooth beach sand like look to a much more structured dendrite now. You can see the snowpack is developing a coarser texture on top and is sparkling like diamonds. I think the accumulations are beginning to build again. We have around 4-6" on the ground, could get another 4" maybe. 8-10" looks like a solid possibility, not too shabby.

Actually you can see on the latest radar frames the southeast collapse of the heavy band stopping with a lot more heavy banding still to come from the southwest.
