Absolutely. The heaviest will be this afternoon/evening with 4"+ on the ground already by that point.

 

It was calm but winds have started to pick up as well.

...BAND OF HEAVY SNOW JUST SOUTH AND WEST OF AREA...

A BAND OF MODERATE AND HEAVY SNOW EXTENDS ACROSS OCEAN AND

MONMOUTH COUNTIES NEW JERSEY...AND REACHES ACROSS THE SOUTH SHORE

OF BROOKLYN AND QUEENS. THIS BAND IS MOVING TO THE EAST NORTHEAST

AND IS EXPECTED TO ENCROACH UPON THE AREA THE NEXT TWO TO THREE

HOURS. SNOWFALL RATES IN THIS BAND CAN BE ONE TO TWO INCHES PER

HOUR. VISIBILITIES IN THE BAND ARE AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE.

HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE ANTICIPATED IN AND NEAR THE BAND

OF HEAVIER SNOW. ELSEWHERE...LIGHT SNOW COVERS THE REST OF THE AREA.
