stormtracker
For the NAM, only 18z today was better... Not by a lot either. Exactly...I don't understand what's going on in here

Jonathan
So the vort shifts from the VA/NC border SIGNIFICANTLY SOUTH to the NC/SC border, but the precip doesn't move south at all AND is drier for everyone in southern VA? This is nuts.

BristowWx
U guys are so silly. Could go south next run. Then you'll be praying no more south trend We have all been burned before...see what the GFS does at before popping the corks...could be a minor perturbation or.... Ji
i think we just have to have a bit of skepticism anything negative can derail confidence after what we have been through. Any negative shift...any model busting warm by 12 degrees can all play a part of what we have become.
NorthArlington101
I still think the models are crazy and DC East is best place to be. This is an eastern storm, IMHO.
DCAlexandria
So the vort shifts from the VA/NC border SIGNIFICANTLY SOUTH to the NC/SC border, but the precip doesn't move south at all AND is drier for everyone in southern VA? This is nuts. Exactly someone between bmore and and Fredericksburg will bullseye. No one noes for sure yet.
Ji
I want DC to jackpot just once. we have to exceed 1.9. Thats our first goal
gymengineer
we've still got plenty of breathing room. i could have told you last summer northern md would beat me on this one. This run already used up like 50 miles of our 100 mile breathing room For the southern edge folk in southern VA, let's hope it's just the NAM doing it's thing... usedtobe
Sounds like a perfect scenario for band gaps over my house. I'm not as worried about the northward shift as some. Remember the Jan 2 storm, the models had a dry slot extending from teh west into DC? We ended up getting plenty of QPF despite the dry slot. Dc got hosed because of temps. snow.
So the vort goes 75 miles south and the precip shield jumps north?...As much as I dislike the NAM when it screws me it is usually 100% right
