Chicago Storm
Not surprising...This is an I-80 on south event. Or not... Best snows in NE. IA look to affect S. WI and N. IL.
Chicago Storm
Ended up with 2.4" here. That total of 1.8" at ORD, if final, is about 0.5" surrounding reports. 47.6" on the season there now. Make that 2.0" at ORD.
Geos
LOT upgraded some counties to a winter storm warning. Roughly west of Rte. 47. Those look pretty good. Interesting banding up by DLL.
blue60007
Topped out around 37 here. Some grass peaking through where the wind has blown it thin but otherwise snow is holding on.
Chicago WX
That worked out perfectly this morning. Looks golden right now. Best radar returns will effect S WI and N IL...and miss us well to the north. Actually, with this warmth (up to 42.5º here)...wouldn't be surprised with just rain, if we get anything. Very disappointing.
A-L-E-K
Western end will dissipate before reaching here. Can't beat the 18z NAM/RAP combo. Wagons north. lol
cyclone77
Given the strength of the baroclinic zone and the intense caa behind the front I'm surprised at how wimpy the radar returns over Iowa have been. Pretty run-of-the-mill looking pockets of snow. Very little if any convective aspect to it.

kevlon62
Things getting pretty wild in St. Paul. Gusts around 45mph really whipping up the new snow. Near whiteout conditions even in urban areas. If this is any indication, things should be rocking in a bit back home. So we are just about to depart after a bite in Tomah. Winds were definitely best back further northwest from TC's to Eau Claire. Your report and family back in Bloomington confirm that has continued to occur. Anticipate that open stretches from here on down to Janesville will have the potential for more adverse conditions. So far though, 95% pavement clean or just wet. Very sporadic driftage impacting our jaunt.
cyclone77
RAP has backed off on the intensity of the snow compared to previous runs.
Maumee Bay Turf Center
My bet is yes. I'm not sure how heavy it will end up but I'm assuming some light snow will make it here at least. Probably somewhere between 1-3AM here. thanks apps - we shall see
Geos
Up to 28-29° in town now. The last of the sun disappeared around 3:30.

Hoosier
Looks golden right now. Best radar returns will effect S WI and N IL...and miss us well to the north. Actually, with this warmth (up to 42.5º here)...wouldn't be surprised with just rain, if we get anything. Very disappointing. IF we get rain it would be for like 5 minutes on the leading edge. It's gonna snow tonight...don't know what else to say.

AppsRunner
thanks apps - we shall see Yes we will. I'm not entirely optimistic but 13abc just posted a snow map with 1-2 for TOL and 2-3"+ for a large portion of NWOH. Even mentioned thunder. I'll stick with up to an inch here but I'm OK with whatever at this point.

hawkeye_wx
DVN wisely cut back a few rows on their warning. They could easily chop off a few more counties. It's a total bust here in Cedar Rapids. We only got a dusting Friday, only got 1.2" last night, which then melted and compacted today with sun and mid 30s, and this line of squalls was a big zilch here. There is no snow to blow around. cyclone77
Think we'll get at least a half inch out of this. Pavement already quickly whitening up. The snow actually has some small snow pellets mixed in with it.
