Interesting IWX in their zones have hoisted WWA from now until 7am Monday, along with WCA.....Indy let their WWA expire at 1 today, which seems odd up this/our way...wrecks just keep amassing

I do not agree with IND's decision whatsoever. Winds gusting upwards of 40 to 45 mph, counties going to a warning status, I've seen pictures of snow drifts up to 8 feet high on rural roads and they let the advisory expire. It makes absolutely no sense. And that seems to be the consensus in the public safety and emergency management communities.

LOT goes WWA 2-5" area wide and significant blowing snow.

3-5" along Dixon to Joliet. Mentioned possible 4-5" of snow falling in 4 to 5 hours.

Also left the door open for upgrade to WSW or blizzard warning for tomorrow evening depending on additional snows.

Gotta wonder if we get any TSSN.

This events remind of both the SB Sunday in 2008 and that Dec 2010 event. Both produced TSSN

2-6" in my grid currently. Glad most of the snow will be falling while it is still "mild out". Shoveling when it's near zero or below isn't fun.

Glad there is a layer of ice on the snow currently out there, otherwise the blowing and drifting would be worse tomorrow night.

lol, where do you think the snow that falls tomorrow is going to go?

You're trying to minimize every facet of this upcoming snow and cold. You just got to deal with it, and look forward to better times down the road. It'll get better soon. Hang in there, pal.

The front itself was just a nice snow shower here, but those post-frontal squalls meant BUSINESS. Picked up exactly 1.0" of much easier-to-measure snow during and after the arctic front, so total here for the event is 3.1". This puts me at 32.2" on the month and 49.1" on the season!!! Also, this boots out February 2011 (31.8") to make January 2014 my snowiest month since I have been recording snow (18 years). DTW picked up an event total of 2.7", which puts them at 31.9" for January, the new all-time snowiest January on record, and also the 3rd snowiest of ANY month on record, behind only Feb 1908 and Dec 1974. DTW sits at 48.6" on the season. The month still has 6 days to go too :)

You won't be able to get into your shed until Memorial Day by the way it's going!  :snowing:

apx afd IS JUST SNOW, SNOW, AND MORE SNOW

4-7" more inches tomorrow and tomorrow night.

Think I'm gonna have to clear the snow off the shed roof.  the one side measures 36" deep and I feel like the walls are starting to buckle.  :/

My point was, the existing snow is locked up from blowing and drifting. I know the 4" or so inches tomorrow will be going into every nook and cranny.
