THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM

WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 6

AM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN

CONNECTICUT.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 10 TO 14 INCHES.

* WINDS...NORTH 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* WIND CHILLS...AS LOW AS 5 BELOW ZERO LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND 20.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* TIMING...SNOWFALL WILL BEGIN LATE TUESDAY MORNING AND WILL

CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...TAPERING OFF EARLY WEDNESDAY

MORNING. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND

EVENING.

* IMPACTS...FALLING...BLOWING...AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CAUSE

HAZARDOUS TRAVEL AND WALKING CONDITIONS ACROSS THE

A little comic relief for you as we await the 18z GFS momentarily.
