Don't feel alone eyewall...The best we done was overcast skies...we never had a drop of rain much less snow.

No worries. I was just making a little nostalgic joke for my SE friends. I have since moved to VT (although we are north of all of the snow with storm and very cold tonight). This is definitely a NE NC special.

Huge, devastating flakes now. Almost a legitimate car-topping starting to begin.

Yay!!! :)

You'd think that. I had big flakes coming down at a good clip. Visibilities were down. Not even on the top of trash cans or cars. Nothing. Not a single flake accumulated anywhere. Amazing.

I'm sure it was pretty while it lasted ;)

28 with light to moderate snow. Small flakes, very powdery now. About 1/4" on the grass.

Wooo hoooo!  :snowing:

1/4" Coating on all surfaces. Still -sn

Awesome  :snowman:

Finally sticking some to the deck but as packbacker and Widre stated there's not much left.  Oh well, I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

Glad to see you got to watch the flakes fly

btw.......I'm jealous  :P

Probably 2-3 bands inbound, I mixed with that little slug which is now north of the airport. Likely still some melting going on with the band over Snow Hill currently, expect this to quickly transition, with the final 1 or 2 (may congeal into one), coming through between 9 and 11, this is the area currently near Fayettenam.

Edit: MHX's call of 1-2 looks good for the northern plain, maybe a 3" dum dum.

How do you think Washington will do?

This is/was a great post, sir.  I would love to be experiencing even Widre's non-sticking snowflakes falling from the sky.  Nary a drop of anything fell from the sky today.  The drought continues...

Perhaps the 1/30 time frame will be the western piedmont's time to shine.  All we can do is wait and see.

The west nc snow drought will end, i will be driving west when it does lol.

-6F, impressive!

Hahah definitely a nostril freezer with a real bite out there. I set my personal record in an earlier outbreak by feeling -22F a few miles farther in from the lake and at home it was around -14F that night. Definitely a different world once you hit -10F.

Solid 1" on the ground here in Wilson.  Got a lull at the moment, still coming down but light snow.  I tried to put up some pics but I am technologically challenged and am having trouble with it.   This may be all we get but I'll take it - I'm just happy to see something after the past couple of years!

The radar is going boom northwest of Oak Ridge.  Maybe we're not done yet...

If that does make it here, temperatures will have crashed more and it might have a decent shot at screwing up the roads.

Let's hope it does. My brother lives in Oak Ridge. Would love for someone in my family to see some snow tonight! Congrats to everyone seeing snow. Jealous :)
