Yvilleweather
Don't feel alone eyewall...The best we done was overcast skies...we never had a drop of rain much less snow. .
packbacker
There is the Widre we know! You and packbacker should hang out. Ground got covered here in less than an hour. Your going to get 2-3", Widre and I have wet grass. Still a flizzard here, sticking to grill cover. Still 3+ years without seeing my grass or even the deck covered with snow. WidreMann
Widre, the temps are crashing over here. And we had the same problem until the last 20-30% of the precip. Then boom! Keep the faith.....The problem is that we are going to run out of precip in about 20 minutes.
packfan98
Snow winding down here. Heavy dusting to 1/4 inch here. Beautiful. I imagine there will be slick spots in the morning. Now I have to wait to see if Guilford County Schools will be closed tomorrow or delayed. I'm guessing closed. Now I'm rooting to get a snow of over 1 inch...Dare to dream!! Cold Rain
Huge, devastating flakes now. Almost a legitimate car-topping starting to begin.
WidreMann
Huge, devastating flakes now. Almost a legitimate car-topping starting to begin. You'd think that. I had big flakes coming down at a good clip. Visibilities were down. Not even on the top of trash cans or cars. Nothing. Not a single flake accumulated anywhere. Amazing. featherwx
The problem is that we are going to run out of precip in about 20 minutes. Yeah, I just checked and it's finally starting to stick in west Durham, but it's too little too late at this point.
FLweather
There is the Widre we know! You and packbacker should hang out. Ground got covered here in less than an hour. NCSNOW
Asheboro the ground is white, roads are fine and it's coming down pretty good clip. As soon as you leave the city limit heading west is where the qpf cut off. 12 miles out to my house and nada. Roads will probably be dry in an hour. So from Asheboro over toward NE Randolph County I'm guessing they will end up with 1- maybe close to 2 above Liberty before all is said and done. The short range models nailed this to the T on qpf and placement of the band. BL put up a strong fight. Hope all you guys to my east overperform tonight. No way Randolph county schools will be open tomorrow.
sctvman
50 here on James Island. Very windy. Supposed to struggle to get out of 30s tomorrow. No accumulating snow at my house since 12/26/10.
WeatherNC
38.4 in southwest Greenville, NC. No big precipitation band has arrived yet. Hoping it starts as snow! Probably 2-3 bands inbound, I mixed with that little slug which is now north of the airport. Likely still some melting going on with the band over Snow Hill currently, expect this to quickly transition, with the final 1 or 2 (may congeal into one), coming through between 9 and 11, this is the area currently near Fayettenam. Edit: MHX's call of 1-2 looks good for the northern plain, maybe a 3" dum dum.

packbacker
Not doing anything now. Wonder if that is it. I think we are about 20-30 miles to far E, a sick band is setting up just east of us, RWI may see 3-4".
Solak
Switched to snow about a half hour ago over here by KJNX . Car and grass are covered. Starting to stick on the crown of the road. Humongous flakes, while the tall pines continue to drip from the earlier rain.
Poimen
28 with light to moderate snow. Small flakes, very powdery now. About 1/4" on the grass.

Cold Rain
The storm did that on its own by being a big stinking piece of ****. It's coming down really good here now. But Fishel just gave an update. From the radar he showed, it looked like the precip was rapidly ending in the west. Futurecast had it all over here by 9. calculus1
Man i forgot how much i loved snow. it's been a long time... 'tears" This is/was a great post, sir. I would love to be experiencing even Widre's non-sticking snowflakes falling from the sky. Nary a drop of anything fell from the sky today. The drought continues... Perhaps the 1/30 time frame will be the western piedmont's time to shine. All we can do is wait and see.
superjames1992
With as cold as it's going to be over the coming days and because my front yard gets no sun this time of year, I'll have snowcover to look at for the next few days! Watch out for black ice tomorrow morning even if the snow has cut off! It's going to be cold tonight. I would think the wind will do its work before it gets too cold, but you never know.
