powderfreak
Im interested to see if powder freak gets anything I've been looking at climate records and the co-op is at 8" on the month (although its *only* January 18th)... record futility is 8.1" in 1962. The next closest is 1956 with 18.4". And 1981 with 18.5". Those are the only three years since records began in 1953 with January snowfall below 20". We have 12" to go in the next 12 days to avoid being in that lovely group of futility.
jamesnichols1989
Cape Cod may get clipped by the storm on the 22 and the 24-25 is there but more for SE Cstl areas. Needs to be watched though. I think CC up through Plymouth county and even Bristol county all do well this upcoming week with regards to snowfall. NAM is clipping the eastern most zones with snowfall at hour 84, also this clipper moving through tonight into tomorrow will probably bring some more precip into the region. powderfreak
No it's not nearly the same. I have no snowcover except for the slush left from earlier. And no snow to track or look forward to over the next 7 days. You have upslope/squalls etc..this time it's my turn to get thrown into the white custom van with no windows full of inmates Ok I've got frozen puddles, some white areas, and grass blades sticking through the 1" of 20:1 ratio snow we got the other day, lol. You've had more January snow than me?
weathafella
You guys have no idea.... 10/25/11-1/31/13 brought me at most 16-17 inches. That's over a 15 month period.
CoastalWx
It's exactly what I was expected when I said similar sensible weather and some of you disagreed. Nickel and dime events, smothering cold and random shots at something better There is absolutely room for a larger New England event after the 27th. CoastalWx
Big arctic block and PAC jet crashing into west coast spells larger storms. Yes this pattern supports smaller events currently, but be careful what you wish for. Those bigger storms will have ptype issues down the road a the PNA drops. At least the grass is gone....but we will melt some of it tmw and Monday. It started out really well. Snowed hard..but it just would stop and start all morning..and then nothing happened after 1:30..Meanwhile ORH is still S+. They'll end up with 8-10 as usual. All i have is slushy coating and black ice. And nothing to track for 7+ days. Tough to take, but it is what it is. At least it will be cold..so i am thankful for that

Cary
After today's crushing defeat..I was hoping someone would have some good news.. It appears will be looking at no snow for 5- 7 more days. I'm happy you guys all got good snows today and will have solid snowcover this week. Nice surprise..But Ryan and me are dry and cold and bare..and I'll be honest ..it f'ing sucks They may/may not have much OTG if it gets warm enough tomorrow and Monday

You were right though..def an ENE winter fyp, lol. I gotta imagine there is no doubt that right now the further east you are in New England, the higher your snowfall anomalies are relative to normal...and the further west to northwest you are, the lower they are. Hopefully we'll see a reversal soon, although the eastern guys sort of deserve a run while the rest get shafted. Although we are only half-way through the accumulating season, this has been one heck of a shaft-job. Just get us to February and hopefully the juju will change.
