I could totally see Ray just blowing us all

out of the water with a stunning March late season surge ala Giants 2007 Epic late season playoff and Super Bowl run.

Really?  How big of a storm would it take?

My time frame is Feb 1-3.  I think that is when we get regionwide mod-heavy.  I am not a believer in mid week.

Between 38-39 or so in BOS Harbor and Stellwagen bank.

Couple the cold sea surface with the fact that the NAO is probably going to be negative, and the Sox will likely be at the bottom of the league in every defensive metric at the end of May because they won't be able to see the ball through the fog.

Yea, you negate that ocean and provide a stormy pattern, I'm going to absolutely derobe through midf March....2nd half of March gets dicey due to orographic considerations...

I wonder if we all ramp up and then just as it looks as if you'll beat Will and Kevin...a massive elevation bomb happens.

LOL well hopefully not. Might be one of those seasons where Ortiz can't hit a beach ball with a tennis racket until Memorial Day.

Rivers got higher with the thaw, so that may have caused it to be tougher to freeze up...but levels have receded.

Yeah I notoced that too, all that rain cleared some of them out. Lakes on the other hand are awesome. Real nice icepack should make for some late ice outs unless morch makes another appearance.

Maybe this is our year for late ice-out.

Last year's ice-out in the northern plains was incredible...like latest on record for some lakes.

It's the area in between Rockport and P-town. It's a sanctuary actually. Big whale hangout. Pretty cool if you ever get to go on a whale watch.

I was out on one down in Marth's Vineyard with an ex circa 2006....

I actually think its the ssts abeam of s NH that are mocre crucial for me.....

I think the torches in a roundabout way helped the lake ice by getting the snow off and letting the cold shots do their thing. Most of the lakes I've been on have 12"+ already.

We should have a gtg on a lake in a couple of weeks......ice fishing, brews, food....just a bunch of dudes standing in bath robes and talking snow.

The ice fishing derby up on Lake Winnipesaukee is pretty much that. It's literally a party on ice.  Wx2fish is a bass assassin. He can catch a Great White from his beach chair.

Lol. I prefer open water fishing, but in the winter let's freeze up those lakes.

It is pretty funny up there during that derby. They basically setup a small town Merideth Bay.

The river was frozen at the south end bridge during the last cold snap, but the flow was much lower.

Anyone else read "Turners Falls" in Ruby Vine's voice?

Ice on the CT River is getting thicker here in East Haddam.  Hopefully it sticks around awhile.  Pretty cool to see.

lol - Railroad Salvage!

I think the river is flatter down there.  If I recall, it's only at about 5-10' asl below the South End Bridge or Enfield Dam so I think the flow effects the ice.  It would be awesome if we could get ice along the whole river!

I was thinking about that.  The colder it is with less snow cover means more ice.  I might take a later date on the Joe's Pond ice out contest.

Would be cool to see a late April ice-out for Winni.

All depends on how the spring unfolds I guess. In 08 I was on Center Harbor with 24"+ on March 31st. A lot of that was frozen slush type ice (white ice) from the epic snow that year. That stuff tends to melt faster than the solid black/clear stuff. I haven't been on winni this year but there's probably a lot of good quality ice.

LOL at Ruby, Choo-Choo and Railroad Salvage. The Ginxster should remember that dynamic duo I daresay.
