weathafella
Starting next week snows look juicier and more widespread. Signal stays chilly so it sure looks possible for all of New England to clean up.

weathafella
What you think for Saturday? Meh for Saturday but sometimes these waa bursts can surprise. The problem is this system won't have much moisture to work with and the parent low is so far removed. It's like we've been yanked to the Yukon with an arctic low moving by well to the north. Pretty strong burst of WAA over a cold arctic dome ..RH looks high on the GFS/...could see a nice 1-
dendrite
Mon has more upside than Sat, but we need to get that low to track under us. With a euro track it's more of a PF deal. I will be cheering for this to go right over SNE.

CoastalWx
Right, but just my hunch. GFS and ensembles are more of a cstl.
JJBASHB
6z Gfs looks great for the areas that just got hit. South of 0z. That's a pretty big difference between the Euro and Gfs.

GFS and ensembles are more of a cstl. With the PV where it is, why would everything be as far north as the euro has it. Seems like what makes sense is for clippers to come off Jersey shore . weathafella
Yeah gfs is the southern outlier Monday with the euro and cmc taking it north of sne. Euro ensembles don't have a great look either so for now I'd put less weight on gfs.

mahk_webstah
Quote from the HPC overnight med range. What does this imply for us? THE 21/12Z MODEL CYCLE SHOWED REMARKABLE AGREEMENT ANDLIMITED SPREAD WITH THE BREAKDOWN AND SLOW EASTWARD MIGRATION OFTHE RIDGE AXIS ALONG THE WEST COAST ON DAY 6. BY DAY 7...THEEC...GEFS AND NAEFS DE-AMPLIFY THE RIDGE AND SHIFT THE RIDGE AXISABOUT 7 DEGREES OF LONGITUDE EASTWARD AND FLATTEN THE AMPLITUDEOF THE DOWNSTREAM TROUGH DRAPED ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN US ANDEASTERN CANADA HEADING INTO THE DAY+ 8 PERIOD. Deamplifying somewhat would be bad or good in this set up? Great discussion from HPC overnight. I like this guy Vojtesak, he puts in a lot of detail and "thinks out loud" sometimes in his discussions. http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/discussions/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=pmdepd

CoastalWx
Saturday is intriguing. Soundings aren't very impressive verbatim, but cold aloft with strong WAA at the surface and good s/w moving through argue for a decent band of snow along the front. Look how it blows up east of the Cape.
