Going beyond that and saying Feb is done on Jan 27th is kinda funny. Agree. I would love to have a cold and snowy Feb but I am not going to whine about it if it doesn't happen. Deck Pic Posted January 27, 2014 Share Posted January 27, 2014 I think it's been obvious that the pattern would relax around Super Bowl and the boundary would get near us with increasing chances of precip (wet and white). But I think it's a little silly to punt the whole month because of that. For the last 2+ months each "pattern" has only lasted 1-2 weeks on average. I don't see why we'll flip to 4 weeks of warmth. I fully expect another period with some snow chances before Feb is out. I still like snow in February...just things look much less promising than they did... Grothar of Herndon Posted January 27, 2014 Share Posted January 27, 2014 I am happy with our winter so far given the set up that is not a great one for our area. Would I like more snow and cold? Yes, I would, but I feel really blessed so far! I just enjoy what snow and cold I get and realize I am in a minority on this board. The long range is never as good nor as bad as it shows. I think there will be opportunities in February and not just car toppers, but also not likely to see a SECS, even less likely to see a MECS and HECS or BECS is not in the cards. When we do have a chance at February snow, we will most likely continue the same type of storms where western and northern areas do better than metro, southern and eastern areas. Without a true block that is just the way the storms go. We are going to get accumulating snow in February; however, we are also going to see warm days and rain. Spring is coming and we live in the Mid-Atlantic. Try and keep the expectation real and if something bigger happens then more to celebrate and enjoy. As Yeoman insinuated we've all got issues if we're here.. not sure why some are always elevating themselves above the rest. We all want it to snow as much or more than possible.
