D-Train
The wind....beautiful sound - didn't expect it, but it's really nice. Oh, and I would argue that 6-8 inches of snow is the perfect amount. Not too much to shovel, but great for the kids and sledding.

mattie g
There are a lot of trees that still have leaves on them/never lose their leaves in the Lowcountry. It wouldn't take much accumulation to bring down lots of branches. And I'd imagine they have no budget for snow removal. The wording might be dramatic, but the points are valid if they get a few inches of snow and ice.

The wording might be dramatic, but the points are valid if they get a few inches of snow and ice. Growing up in the ATL, 1 inch was there version of snowmageddon. Blizzard of 1993 was like all the three big snowstorms of 2009/2010 for us all at once. Not only no budget, but no equipment. I think ga dot had something like 200 plows/spreaders for the entire state. I think for the storm last week va dot had 1500 plows just for n. va. My niece lives in Charleston and she said she has never seen people freak out like this in her life. My cousin lives in the Battery and told me it wasnt all that bad when they were out and about today. People are talking about it for sure, but she didnt think anyone was freaking out. also they dont have all the equipment like we do up this way. I wish I was down there to get some good photos of this. Love snow on palm trees
