There are a lot of trees that still have leaves on them/never lose their leaves in the Lowcountry. It wouldn't take much accumulation to bring down lots of branches. And I'd imagine they have no budget for snow removal.

The wording might be dramatic, but the points are valid if they get a few inches of snow and ice.

Growing up in the ATL, 1 inch was there version of snowmageddon. Blizzard of 1993 was like all the three big snowstorms of 2009/2010 for us all at once. Not only no budget, but no equipment. I think ga dot had something like 200 plows/spreaders for the entire state. I think for the storm last week va dot had 1500 plows just for n. va.

Makes sense to me, especially for an area down there in CHS metro, This could be a major event for them

Nice pic, Disc. I was in Roanoke on Thursday and saw a snow shower come through. You guys have had it tough this year. 3 hours up I-81, I have had 28 days of snow cover this season. Hope everyone cashes in this February.

Hope so as well. I have a seasonal total of about 1" so far. Last storm was definitely a hard pill to swallow!

The impacts part gave me a chuckle though. My niece lives in Charleston and she said she has never seen people freak out like this in her life.

My cousin lives in the Battery and told me it wasnt all that bad when they were out and about today. People are talking about it for sure, but she didnt think anyone was freaking out. also they dont have all the equipment like we do up this way. I wish I was down there to get some good photos of this. Love snow on palm trees :)
