jnis
This is a guitar made by Wayne Henderson. It is copy of a 1930's Martin...I can't remember the model. It rivals any top end Martin. The guitar belongs to my father in law, but I played it for several weeks when he was visiting.

mitchnick
https://www.facebook.com/groups/GearTalkPnW/ plus the line 6 guitar forums. I have a James Tyler Guitar that simulates Teles,Strats,Greutch,Les Pauls, etc Line 6 ehh....I got a Spider Jam 75 Watt for Christmas Once I get around to recording some leads over the songs that are programmed, I'll put them up somewhere (I'm an old man and don't know wtf I'm doing when it comes to recording) don't get me started on my guitars though (I think 15 or so electrics)
mitchnick
Reverends are great. My variax is the latest model(hd)has mag pickups in case I don't want to use the models but the models sound really good i think. And so do the acoustics . If u don't use models it's still a nice sounding but expensive les Paul The dude I play with at church has a rare 12000 dollar custom prs I don;t have any rare ones, at least I don't think, but I do have 4 PRSs as part of my stable I played with Paul Smith and his band at a promo event in Annapolis in March, 2000, the night of the last snow of that season I had the tape for years then sold a car and it was in the cassette deck

KAOS
I use Reaper as my DAW but have Logic on the Mac. Also have a few others on the PC. I am using a focusrite scarlett interface for recording and have a radial pro 48 DI box. Monitors are JBL Control One. I mostly use the mac for monitoring via a split signal off the DI box. Utilizing two computers (one for monitoring and one for recording) works out well. I am using the line 6 UX2 on the mac for monitoring. That feeds a full range flat response amplifier with a 1x12 speaker/cab. Typically, I use the Superior Drummer 2 VSTi for drums. Most drum programming happens via the midi editor inside my DAW. That said, I have a M-Audio Axiom 25 that I will use for midi based virtual instruments on occasion. This combined with a few SM58 clone mics pretty much covers the spectrum of tools I need for home based recording projects. Lots of vst plugins are used as well. Can't go wrong with the SM57...it's like an industry standard. Here is a clip of the project (incomplete) I am currently working on.... http://prime.aspserver.net/AwxMetalClip.mp3 Fair Warning : This clip is pretty is pretty metal-ish and doomy. I converted it to mp3 to reduce the file size for easier downloading. jnis
Here is a short snippet from a project. This is more of an experimentation using the software instruments. I recorded the guitar through a fender hot rod deville using an sm57 mic. Sorry about the tuning...my guitar went out of tune towards the end. I blame it on the weather. It was cold, foggy, and rainy when I made the recording .

KAOS
Nice! I really like the baritone guitar. Are you tuning down? Thanks! Tuning is B F# B E G# C# on that clip. Different tunings are one of the reasons I had so many guitars. The variax as cool because you change the tuning on the fly. The other guitars would need to be setup again for optimum playibility at different tunings..... especially with a tremolo equipped guitar. The clip that I posted features a great free peavey 5150/6505 amp modeler called TSE X50. I am using Ignite Amp's free NadIR zero latency convolver with several mesa boogie recto v30 equipped impulses. Mics include SM57 & a 421. Impulses were created using the power amp section from a 6505. Guitars just have the normal highpass and lowpass filters that are commonly used to eliminate frequencies outside of the normal frequency spectrum of a guitar. Bass is DI with another great free vst from TSE (B.O.D. v2). That runs through a LA2A compressor and equalized using Izotope's Ozone5 EQ with a large cut in the 500hz region. Also some signal was sent to the X50 for some extra git and finished off with a fx send to some chorus with a high pass eq filter set @ nearly 700hz. There are also the normal highpass and lowpass filters that are commonly used to eliminate frequencies outside of the normal frequency spectrum of a bass guitar. Drums are Superior Drummer 2 with the Metal! EZX using moslty default settings. All the drums are bussed out (multi-out) to individual tracks in the DAW. The kick and toms have a SSL comp in their signal chains along with some slight EQ. Both the snare and kick have Gclip in their chains to clip off some the transient drum hits. All of those busses are sent to a "pre-master buss" which has a mid/side EQ (Baxter EQ) and some aditional metering for monitoring purposes. The Master buss has FG-X (Final Comp and Limiter) followed by Izotope Ozone5 EQ on it. And last... but not least is another instance of Gclip to catch any stray transients. BTW... Alot of the free plugins perform better than the ones I paid for....which is why I choose to use them instead.

Kay
You guitar gods are blowing my mind with your stables of primo gear. Lingo is totally over my head but I also play guitar...acoustic, passably well. Current one is a hand-me-down Ovation of uncertain but not too distant vintage. I also sing in a band, but don't play guitar in it. Omg picturing a board band forming...tho The Weathermen is already taken...

The bass moves through different inversions. I'm soloing in Em pentatonic/ blues. For more color, you can play the c# over the A chord (e dorian mode). It's a nice progression for dreary, rainy, foggy weather. I was also thinking of a polar vortex theme...lol
