I'm thinking OPM goes with a 2 hr delay and unscheduled telework/leave.

I think the possible 8" calls were too much.  Sticking with 4-6" would have covered it for most of us.

I've already gotten an e-mail from the boss that we can work from home if we have the means. Might be able to put in an hour before we leave and another when I get home.

4-6" isn't bad at all, but the WSW went for 6-10" later last night. To then bust low, while seeing the folks who have already well passed their season-to-date normals get in on good stuff, is a disappointment. It is what it is, but it's still disappointing (even when you're not at home to experience it).

As for the last piece of that...if we "bust" on this one, I'm going all in on the next one since I'll be home.

Why do people have a hard time enjoying snow and being optimistic?

i think we all enjoy snow.  i think the weenie bashing is ridiculous though.  often times, they are right lol.  better to just let everyone view their opinions and ignore the posts that you don't agree with.  that's what i do and it works out pretty well.

In reality, this one is going to end up on par with the two March storms for us.  Big difference is that it is going to stick around instead of melt by the end of the day.

This storm has been more enjoyable than anything in the last few years.

It has been an all day event with widespread accumulations and without serious mixing issues.

Pretty much a win... though as most (weenies) I wish there was more.

Additionally, it is not over. Sit back and enjoy.

Personally, I am going out to shovel some more snow and enjoy what we have.

Congratz to almost all....

Oh yeah... I am getting dryslotted again!

Fortunately it looks like things are filling back in on my hallucinated beer goggle radar.

Woohoo!!!

If we could only get rid of these small flakes, sun angle, wind destroying snow growth rates, eroding back edge and road puddles.... we would be golden!!!

Exactly. I'm sure the walk was nice...and something you'll remember as part of this storm.

We enjoyed taking our dogs for a walk earlier...the dogs loved the snow that fell...and didn't care that FDK had double what we had.

I walked all the snows in 09-10 with my kids and carmageddon in '11. I will never forget them as it is so cool to see them have a blast in stuff that is so rare

Gotta enjoy whatever fails. I know I had fun walking around with my daughter

Concur with all the posts about not being able to express an alternative to all the "positive" posts. A lot of mine were deleted, but I bet the scenario they described will be more accurate in the end than the models...

...you were not making the same type of posts that snow. was. Your posts were clearly unrealistic at times and you came across as a bit of a troll at times. This was a fairly nice storm for most of us and you would have had us think that an inch or two was going to be a stretch.

Curious of something, when this was looking like a 1-2" deal for DC on the good end, and I said I wanted to make a thread to bring us good luck, did it work?

Wondering if I've earned myself potential privileges in the future?

Oh UVVmet84...

Only you would be concerned about something as trivial as thread starter rights in the middle of a snow event :P

OH YEAH?

This one could be another chapter in how we get screwed within 12 hours of event start. Seems like my concerns about the north trend last night were valid. Everyone hates people who bring up concerns, but why, if the concerns are valid? So, we have less QPF, warmer temps, lower rates, lower liquid:snow ratio, later start...I could see having wet streets most of the daylight hours. Maybe a little thump near the end after dark to finally give us a decent coating. Like 2-3" on grass, 1" on roadways. Most will then sublimate overnight. A far cry from what everyone was expecting 12 hours ago. :(
