So I guess people only like it when people post verbatim QPF totals, buy good model runs lock-stock-and-barrell, and toss bad model runs for no reason. At least allow a contrary view on here. My posts on the concerns are valid after living here through decades of storms and following this board for 10 years. It is not "whining." Just not as positive of a viewpoint based on tribal knowledge. Why is this discounted? I thought I was in America.

It's not the length of your posts, but rather the motion in the ocean.

Presentation, if you will.

Every storm, you seek the counter-snow data point or obs, and grind on that point until it's a finely polished stone. And then you go back for more. This, in an environment of snow lovers. No surprise you get some backlash.

I'm mostly agnostic on snow, but even I get irritated with you, mainly because you live in the dumpy part of C-ville, so I guess that's just me.

Your avatar made me lol.

Thanks! I have a squirrel that has been damn near knocking on my slider door for the last 4 or 5 years. Early on he tangled with either a cat or another squirrel, resulting in a notched ear. The little bugger has reached the point of scampering right up to me to take peanuts out of my hand.

If I don't see him for a few days, I begin to worry. :D

I'm just going to say this one unhelpful weenie thing as catharthis so I can stop thinking it: onset temp of 35 with precipitation falling in the middle of the day onto warm ground....disaster potential isn't nill.

For the sake of dignity, I copied and pasted here, but if you're worried about warm ground as a result of yesterday's heat wave, forget it.  The only thing warm yesterday was the air.

Hard to know if we are dealing with higher temps due to a later start time in the general evolution of the storm or if it's a north trend. The storm is still disorganized so hard to tell from just looking at the radar.

You're dealing with a little leftover warmth that's about to get squashed.

Don't forget the guitars and music!!!!

I never realized that people had guitars that are worth more than my truck.  And it's not just one person, there's a whole cult out there I didn't know existed.

The scariest person was Mitch!  I could actually see the spark in his eyes in each of his posts.  He was 22 again and I was frightened.

I'm not worried about temps per se. I'm worried about the storm track and where the good banding sets up. I don't think anyone can with certainty where that will be yet based on the current guidance. It's not a large storm and 50 miles might make a big difference.

You don't have to get good banding to get a good snow. Besides, any good banding was gonna be late in the day.
