Stayed at the Ritz in Kapalua and had a blast. Which Island? Love Hawaii! Spent 10 days on the BI last year. Planning Maui/Kauai next year. Have a great time! Might be a stretch but I think you need to move the stove out of the front door. It sounds to me like you are too close to the oven while standing outside. I turned around and it was lowering itself from the rafters. It sort of freaked me out. Prior to that I had never seen a black widow. After that day I started seeing them frequently on my property. And I wouldn't say all of the islands are superior with regards to scenery. Lanai is kinda blah outside of the rocky cliffs. The only real draw there is the 4 seasons.
