Note the 4 snow number for tomorrow. That's 4.0 to 5.9", for those that don't know.

Today was supposed to be colder than predicted. Forecast was for it to hovering around 6°, not 13° like it is right now. Little breezy, but not all that bad.

Tomorrow will be a walk in the park, but then most extreme air comes in. As long as wind chills don't get out of hand, schools still might be in session. - Although some have already pulled the trigger and canceled Monday.

In this day and age most schools will close. Besides, many were under the impression below zero days were a thing of the past.

was supposed to be high of near 20 with slowly falling temps in to the low teens through the afternoon. so pretty much as forecasted.

This.

Its the same here in southern Ontario. So many seem shocked that it's getting this cold. Bear in mind that people ten years younger than me have been taught in school that the climate is warming so much that they won't see winters like in their parent's day. A few years ago a reporter on the news said that northern Ontario just "doesn't see minus 30 [Celsius] temperatures anymore".

Lol, it was actually 31° around 2am today.

what happened to Geos...between Tim and I the apartment on DD Lane is already kind of cramped.

After falling on rock hard ice on Thursday (did not feel good), I'm wishing for 20s at least now. Plus I've had to deal with 2 frozen pipes already this month. Cold and dry has never really done it for me.

- Palm trees won't be appearing in my posts, lol. Don't worry.

It seems that Wisconsin schools close less often than Illinois schools now. Right now I see a lot of the schools closing are suburban and private. I think some will be hesitant to close, because any day that is missed will have to made up and the end of the year. Public that is.

yeah waa over performed as usual.   down in the teens by 8 am and dropped slowly all day like what was forecasted for days..  don't know where you're getting it was supposed to be 6 degrees today.

Point forecast said it was going to hover around 6° this afternoon. -2° for the low tonight - will see how that goes.

Cold winter sunset tonight.

doesn't get any better than this imo. :) (for January anyway)

There is this neat illusion that occurs with that image (the forecast condition icons) where it changes colour when you scan sideways a certain way...it doesn't always happen but its occurred 3-4 times when I glanced at it. Its random.

My forecast point for tonight is -18ºC (-0.4ºF) with a wind chill of -28ºC (-18.4ºF). I think TWN forecast is too warm for this week and maybe tonight.
