Air is still moving here. -6° currently. 

 

I noticed on the way home tonight, a lot of the open fields had soil visible. The powdery snow just doesn't have that staying power. Might be a reason it was slightly warmer than forecast.

I think they've unleashed a pretty big precedent there. To not close once in nearly 4 decades because of weather and then decide to close tomorrow because of weather is nothing short of amazing. They'll probably close at least twice a year now if this is a new benchmark for closure.

I thought they cancelled during the blizzard of '99?

Nope - that was probably during winter break actually.
