Chicago Storm

Recommended Posts

Given radar returns over southern Lake Michigan and the possibility of the band stalling over Chicago overnight, this has a chance to turn into something pretty epic by Chicago LES standards.  Sure there's the little bit of system snow but this is going to be almost all lake effect.

Agreed, I think someone has a real shot at more than 12" maybe even more than 15".

Getting MDT to nearly HVY snow now here in the near south loop, just measured 1.1", but flake size has really increased with this current burst. Definitely light, fluffy high ratio snow now. Estimating VSBY here at 1/2SM, nearby loop AWOS reporting 1/4SM. Feeling much better about warning for Cook now, was not super confident when pulling trigger earlier.
