JQPublic
Tornado? They were def swirling here, but I don't think there are any confirmed reports of tornado damage...possibly just straight-line winds.
Brick Tamland
I'm interested in seeing if that pic I posted from Hwy 98 in Wake Forest was from straight wind or a tornado.
Stormsfury
prelim it's straight line wind damage
Poimen
Lots of trees down in the area and we were without power for more than an hour.
WeatherNC
SVR warning likely verified here, one can tell the wind threshold where it whites out, saw 2 transformers go in the distance, green tint on the horizon told me it was not thunder, imagine GUC has a few outages to deal with... Yes, sounds like there is damage all around my neighborhhod, but we got lucky and didn't have any damage.
Brick Tamland
Highway patrol spotted a funnel cloud at US1 and 96 in Youngsville when the storms came through. That isn't even 3 minutes from my house.
downeastnc
Kinda meh here peak winds maybe 45-50 mph, very little lightning or thunder.

metalicwx366
Surprised there was no warning with that storm that just came through. It was gusting over 45mph before the actual line hit then went crazy with the storm.

nckhawk
This is 2 doors down from my house in Raleigh. Glenwood between Oberlin & St. Mary's is still blocked by two & half large oaks. Seemed like straight line winds. Power still on somehow. There is a crushed car and house damage 1 block over. A pretty close call.

Shawn
The line of storms just moved threw mby.....little gust around 25, but there is some pretty heavy rain associated with it I'll tell you what.. that front was the most ridiculously crappy thing I have ever seen in my life. Here in my yard by the lake, I saw absolutely no wind except what the heavy rain brought down with it (and that was minimal at best). I made more wind in the toilet from last nights pizza than what this offered for Lexington, SC. As soon as it passed my house (of course), it builds into a better line again and decides to put down more damage reports. POed.

Stormsfury
Squall Line lived up to expectations across this region, 50 mph wind gusts, frequent lightning (did not expect this), and tumultuous downpours. A large tree branch down in the Crowfield Plantation area (in the road) in Goose Creek (was on my way home from work). Unfortunately a serious accident occurred on Ladson Rd with a SUV I believe flipped on its side and facing opposite the direction of travel on the sidewalk. Snapped a few pictures but only one came out. at the very least, a serious injury occurred with many police, fire and EMS vehicles on the scene. Solak
Lost power for about 2 1/2 hours. Saw one pine down across the street. Lots of debris branches from the pines scattered about. White-out horizontal rain with the 2nd band that passed through.
Cold Rain
Small pine on a neighbor's house and lots of limbs down. The power has stayed on, but it continues to flicker, even at this hour.
