Just passed the freezing mark for the first time in 71 hours. 32.6

Freezing rain advisory...please don't tell me schools will be closed again. At this rate we'll be pulling kids out to go to the beach in July.

I hope they don't close Mike!  I am leaving for the Adirondacks tomorrow morning, it might be a slick drive.

I freaking hate ice.

Many long-timers around here say ice was NEVER an issue until a few years ago, is that true to anyone's recollection that's been around?

It varies from year to year, but I don't think there's any difinitive trend, at least not for my location. Those located in true central may feel differently as it is climatologically snowier there than here, the Harrisburg area, or the Lehigh Valley, where I'm originally from.

Correct...I can recall ice as a kid so thick on snowcover you could walk on top of it without even leaving a mark where you walked.

Also, the river has really risen in Harrisburg today. Like, many feet. I know Harrisburg Fire Department officials are preparing for flooding due to the ice jams and ice buildup.

Love the riverfront in HBG. I had season tickets for years for the Sens and the new Metro Bank Park is great. I just wish the stadium faced downtown instead of the trees on the western edge of the island. Flooding is obviously always a concern there. A couple years back the Sens lost home field in the playoffs due to flooding.

Honest way too abrupt question: any way I can join you for a future flight? :)

Some times we do flights and we have an open seat. If we have an open seat normally if someone wants to tag along we will let them.

I've flown a Cessna 172, so love me some flying. What chopper do you fly? So awesome video and pics!

Edit: I found the website and pricing info. Can I shoot you an email about a photo tour for the wife and I? She's a photog ... will def pay! (Sorry to be so off topic)

No problem at all, you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks, I you would like keep the dual controls in and let you try out some helicopter flying since you have flown before. You just cant get much better photos then out of a helicopter low and slow as much as you want.

I'd love to go up too, I'll have to check out your site.

I flew in a ch-47 in Iraq and loved it. The tail gunner had the ramp down and I was within a few seats of the rear so I got to look out over Baghdad as we flew over at about 2 am local. It was definitely my favorite aviation experience. Although, I imagine flying in something that doesn't resemble a schoolbus with rotors is even better.
