NorthShoreWx
On LI I've prob had a couple gusts between 20-25 mph...not impressive at all On an island 120 miles long, you shouldn't generalize your backyard to the whole Island. Far better to state the town you are in (better still, put a location in your sig like most people do). You are entitled to not be impressed. IMBY, we had more thundershowers today than we did in a month last summer. They were quite gusty.
nzucker
The wind advisory hasn't verified well though, no question about that. Not a surprise though as the LLJ often fails to mix down in these situations.

Not a surprise though as the LLJ often fails to mix down in these situations. OKX indicated earlier that they weren't overly confident about it verifying, but thought some good gusts would mix down with convection. Frankly, I think that probably did happen, just not at the ASOS sites.

IsentropicLift
Yet another failure by the models in terms of QPF. Even the euro had many runs with widespread 2" plus amounts. Rivers were forecasted to reach minor flood stage, in reality rises were minimal. Disappointing. The 4k NAM was especially bad, even as late as today's 12z run. odwalla
Fog is INSANE on Battery Park. Parts of the river path have literal 0 visibility, and winds are crazy in spots too -- no real gusts, but sustained 45-50mph. very isolated, but it looks like you are in a jet plane as the clouds are going by so quickly.
