We also have 500-700mb lapse rates between 6.0-6.5 C/kM and TT values near 50. Supports isolated t-storms possible mixing down wind gusts 50mph+

 

I think that this is the first time that I can remember the SREF's go 90% for thunder over any portion of

our region in January.

NNJ is going to see quite a bit more rain than the city and LI. The heaviest axis of rain looks to fall just NW of I-95. Also at least 3 distinct rounds of convection for NNJ. Just about everyone NW of NYC should easily pick up over an inch. Pouring right now in Hackensack by the ice house.
