Baroclinic Zone
It was earlier. Probably between 1/4 to 1/2sm. You always live and die by ASOS. LOL, just disregard my 1st hand report of driving the whole length of the snow band and rely on a webcam for verification of radar.

I'm guessing the band must have magically enhanced itself once it hit the warm coastal waters of the Canal.
CoastalWx
LOL, just disregard my 1st hand report of driving the whole length of the snow band and rely on a webcam for verification of radar. It actually intensified as it went east, probably from better WAA from the milder waters. Sorry you had flurries.
Ginx snewx
1.5 new at 10 degrees, wall of snow came and went. 1.5 = inches of snow, 0= number of town, state trucks seen in a 33 mile commute.
Ginx snewx
That's below 1/2sm on that webcam. When that wall came through it was 1/4 mile.

Summer tomorrow Your roads look better than my backroads, what a disaster commute, people who do not know how to drive in the snow should stay the F home, multiple spin outs on the way in. The brightest returns went right over TAN/BOX. And you can easily get 1.5" of snow with 1/2mi snow.

Yes, even rte 169 was not in great shape as of a half an hour ago. Funny how certain snowfalls that are less than this 1.5" get more plow attention. Strange. Dude 35 minutes to get from 395 exit 85 down 164 to rt 2, Rt2 totally untouched and ice. asleep at the wheel, NWS, weather consultants. Try this formula, under 20 degrees, big WAA burst timed at the commute and you don't know enough to have trucks, sanders on the roads at 4 AM? If they plow and sand here and only 3 cars come by then the road is still packed, if they plow and sand there and 350 cars come by, well you get the point.
