This threat is dead. This is merely a blip on the radar as far weather goes for the next 10 days. Our next threat PB GFI pointed out just now in the january forecast discussion thread

12z Euro has just come in with .13" of precip as frozen for NYC.

With the Rgem fully supporting it, I would completely throw out the NAM and all it's counterparts.

You do realize that even though 850 temps are cold enough for snow for about 3 hours or so, the surface freezing line is almost 100 miles north of NYC by hour 30. The precipitation looks very, very light in intensity and areas will be lucky to see any accumulations at all.

You do realize that at hour 30, the precip has already fallen right?

And even at hour 30, 1pm, the temperature in NYC is only 35.1 degrees, 2 hours after the bulk of the precip has ended.

All the precip falls from 7am to 11am with temps of 30-32 degrees.

The surface is 30 degrees at 7am in NYC.
