Was watching those supercells around the Red River tonight at work on KFDR. SAILS (and AVSET) is going to be huge... getting low level scans every 2 or 2.5 minutes is awesome. 

 

It really is amazing how much more information just one extra scan at 0.5 degrees during each volume scan will give you.

Something CASA-like would be nice to fill in a few of our holes. And we don't even have it as bad as some other locales across the country. Northeast TX or MO is much worse than our southwest NH no man's land.

 

 

That's where the UMass radar is headed... trading one gap for another bigger one.

meh....it's not terribly uncommon to see a pattern like that in May here...especially the first half of the month.  May is a month where it can be like 40's and 50's at the beginning and then flirting with 90 by months end....yes it can also suck at the end of the month but anyways we usually have at least some type of threat for strong storms during the second half of the month.
