Chicago WX
IND has to be close with this run, but heavy precip rates may help. Writing is on the wall though...

tuanis
This has all been pretty fascinating to watch come together. I cancelled my trip to MI this morning, so I'll be sitting in Libertyville for this storm too. Winter has gone into full beast mode.
IWOBLU
What are my chances of getting into O'Hare at 9:45 tonight? Channel 7 news reporting that O'hare just proactively cancelled 200 flights this afternoon.
SchaumburgStormer
This has all been pretty fascinating to watch come together. I cancelled my trip to MI this morning, so I'll be sitting in Libertyville for this storm too. Winter has gone into full beast mode. I agree. I expected the NW shift to peek out at some point, but I can say I ever really expected the models to show us in the action on this. Will have to see if everything else capitulates in their runs today.

hoosierwx
LAF will get smoked this run...but wagons way north, p-type issues increasing. LMK is riding the Euro and GFS and is showing just a couple of hours of mix and 10" of snow for here on the hourlies. I thought by this morning we would have some consensus on all the models. Could be a big time bust down here.
Gilbertfly
SLP a good 50 miles to the west at 03Z 06JAN compared to the 06Z NAM...also 5 or so millibars stronger.... bringing an enhanced threat of lake enhancement into a good chunk of LOT with this run also

Gilbertfly
with windfields and fluffy nature of snow....blizzard conditions look likely for LOT via the 12Z NAM verbatim sunday evening (maybe not enough to meet the criteria for a full blown warning)....FWIW
extremewx52
Nam usually backs off qpf approaching an event, yet with this storm it continues to increase with the better deformation due to the stronger cyclone. Will be interesting to see if the rest of the 12z runs follow this trend
