Smokin pics guys and gal.

Iceboats are so cool. They can do 50-60mph in 25mph wind.

It's actually safer to be in an ice boat than walking. The triangle of the 3 blades distributes weight over a much larger surface area of ice. But I can tell that ice is totally safe from the pics. Good job Kay!

Nice pic of the German Shepard. Very cool

Earlier today got these pics of a great blue heron, just standing in the yard in the sun. Unusual behavior...I wonder if they're hungry. Pics not too good, shot through a door so as not to scare away.

Love Blue Herons. Where I grew up in NJ, there was a nesting grounds not to far away and every year more and more Blue Herons would be around. Even had a resident one at our pond on our property, ate all the fish out of the pond :(

Thats a sweet photo Ian. One of your best. Nice work

Thank you for the compliments.

I'm enjoying the pics...and the sunset last night was amaaaazing.

Sweet! When was the last winter you were able to walk on the ice?

I'm uncertain, did not record stuff until more recently. But I want to say winter 2003-2004? Seems right and there was cold. Edit: there has been ice in other years, but that year seemed more epic, like now...anyway was the only other time I tried.

That is a very good and logical point you make about weight distribution, and I'm glad it didn't occur to me as I struck out there. But seriously yeah, it was totally secure.

Wow gorgeous photo C.A.P.E.  Great colors

Nice, looks like a great place to camp. Where about was this at?

The lake is in Cowan's State Park which seems like quite the spot for the locals.  Ice fishing and skating in the winter, and boating and swimming in the summer.  We stayed in the PATC cabin (Silberman cabin) about 4 or 5 miles north.  It's the first time I've been to that cabin and it's great.
