winterymix
I'm very loathe to criticize those guys...i think they do excellent work...but this was not their finest hour. It's like they were asleep or just didn't care. I get the impression that they bring out woody! for the snow events. He was very bearish for this event, even during his afternoon AFD. It seems that nobody would over-rule woody! So far there is no good explanation for why the models busted too dry. LWX was and still is slow to adjust with the nowcasting during this event. Heck, they were predicting start of precip for 6 pm and in Balto. County, the clouds lowered and got ominous and snow developed by or before 3 pm and LWX didn't catch on very well until after 5 pm. needbiggerboat
Just took a Jebwalk with my kids--their first nighttime Jebwalk. Very wet snow. Once the temps drop, that stuff could be hard to shovel tomorrow. Maybe shovel the driveway tonight instead of waiting til morning. Surprised you take your kids out in that part of Cville after dark. Thinking the same...shovel and throw some salt down...prob can't use the snowblower on this one.

5speed6
We're around 1.5" south of Annapolis, maybe a hair more. Coming down beautifully. Even if it does cut off earlier than projected, it's a beautiful winter night. Can't complain.

gymengineer
I have 1"..I doubt DCA has more than 0.3" As you've and others have pointed out, DCA's window for accumulating snow wasn't set to begin until around the 33 F mark, which looks to be around 10 pm. So we'll see if there's enough precip between 10 and 1 am to get to 1".

Jebman
Question is will it still accumulate? It'll be colder, it will accumulate. Great thing about this storm is it's at night. Even better yet, an arctic front will bring really cold air overnight so we'll keep the snow for a few days
