Fios just went out in Silver Spring MD. I hope this isn't indicative of what's to come tonight...... Lots of snow on the power lines and branches around here

May be localized event -- I still have FiOS in downtown Silver Spring. About 1" of very wet snow on the ground. Sidewalks and streets around here are just wet, though the snow did cover up the sidewalks/patios pretty solidly when it was coming down earlier.

Just got to 2.0. My 32.2 temp has not budged for hours. I agree with Ji in a way that we may not get to the powder side of the storm. Not much is going to blow around with the exception of the tree accumulation. Still, nice event brings me to 5.5 on the season if this is truly over.

Coastal may give us a bit more. Then this arctic front is gonna destroy us with frigid air and wind gusts to 50 mph.

This snow aint goin anywhere for at least a day or two.

If that NAO was negative, we'd keep this snow til Feb

anyone east of 95 should look at radar

Yep... models aren't perfect even in the short range, but they were pretty darn close in predicting that that western edge would pulse north between 10 pm and 1 am. Ji's sad it didn't happen over Leesburg, but it looks to be happening now just west of DC.
