9.4" @ 11:30...

Storm total around 9.6" .... Nearly 6 inches due to LE or enhancement as far as I could tell...

it snowed for nearly 50 hours straight at my location...best rates were Tuesday mid-afternoon as the baro zone was sliding to the north and passing overhead....and then also, obviously, today during some of the better LE banding...

Ended up with close to 5" here.  3" of that was lake effect, which I can't remember ever getting that much lake effect down here.

Not much snow but was fun to witness such a rare event for here.

Nice photo. LES delivered for you. I got you beat by a 1/2" or so. We were close in the end...but took two different paths to get there. :D

The storm total was 9.9" over 3 days at Toledo (up to 5PM eastern time). My parents say they had significant drifting at their place. This is really one of the top storm totals for Toledo of all time.

If you include Dec. 31st I'm getting a storm total of 10.2" at KTOL. Light snow is still falling across the area too.

Well guys.....after 47 hours of continuous snow...it appears to be finally coming to an end here. The roads are about as bad as Ive seen them with the blowing and drifting snow, cars getting stuck everywhere because the rutted snow in unplowed streets is well over a foot deep. I understand the advisory aspect, but the impact is warning+. The wind of today had created very interesting drifts. We had 2.5" of additional snow since 8am imby, with 0.15" of water equivalent...and I measured that by using the catch in my snowcan as the board was drifted over. Luckily it was only this last part of the storm that was somewhat hard to measure. Snow depth is 10", but my yard there are spots as low as 6" and as high as 17".

Storm totals.....

Part 1: Snow 1.4", Precip 0.07"....Timeframe: 1am - 3pm December 31st

Part 2: Snow 11.6", Precip 0.64". Timeframe: 8pm December 31st - 7pm January 2nd

SO.....47-hour storm total snow 11.6"....December 31-January 2nd total 66-hour snowfall 13.0" on 0.71" of liquid. This storms duration is one that will definitely be stored in the memory bank.

Are you guys further west including that first little impulse (Dec 30/31) in your storm totals?

2" behind MDW despite better returns for 95% of the event.  'copter

I wonder if ORD is using the new snow-measuring guidelines (and hence, didn't account for compaction) while MDW didn't?  Over such a long-duration event with high ratio snow, it certainly seems possible that that accounted for 2" or so.

They shouldn't be. http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/41853-new-nws-snow-measurement-guide/?p=2504359
