Made it to Albany and wow... 1/4" mile visibility and large flakes. Around 1 degree at the airport. Mesoscale banding really aiding in the snow here right now.

Snow is piling up fast in that corridor over to woodford state park,vt . That state park routinely pulls sick totals. Prob see some 12-15" there

Well, I think a lot of them have been smart to go 6-10" for a lot of the region. That is a big range and should verify.

But the NECN single amount thing is disturbing. 12" looks out of reach

I doubt DT looked really closely at New England. If he didn't he prob should not be putting those maps up

I feel like crap today.

Agreed.

Those have been  my thoughts.

Can anyone comment on what is causing the snow south of the pike all the way down to NYC area? it's not the WAA band obviously..there almost seems to be some easterly ocean enhancement to it.

It is WAA. You force any air over this cold dome and it will snow if there is saturation. The frontogenesis is what is causing the nearly stationary band to the north near my area.

Ripping in South Boston. Our owners are complete fools when it comes to weather. We'll be sitting in the office staring at computer screens until it's too late. I'll also be expected to be in the office early tomorrow.

Work on the Quincy side of Neponset bridge, snowing a pretty good rate and will be expected to be here til 5 today and in by 8 tomorrow. That's why I just packed up and sleeping at a coworkers place down the road. No way I'd get from Kingston to Quincy that time tomorrow morning.

Is that OES coming north across/near LIS into CT? Or is it another process

Radar looks weak here but still light snow
