Itstrainingtime
I remember that, I was a year or two younger then you. My grandparents had a place at long level. The Ice was way higher then the front end loaders clearing the road. That was worse then 96. Thanks for confirming...what I remembered was far more impressive than '96. Down to 6.1 here now. Hoar_Frost
Looks like it got to about 3 above at Walker Building on the Penn State campus here in State College. Only 16 days since 1893 have had a maximum temperature as cold or colder. Only 11 days if the MMTS recorded 2, which is possible.
dcfox1
Thanks for confirming...what I remembered was far more impressive than '96. Down to 6.1 here now Yea I should have said much worse then 96. My parent had pics of that, I need to find them. One was me standing in the road with the loader trying to clear out behind me. Even with the Bucket extended as high as it can go the ice was higher then it.

Voyager
Daughter filled balloons with water with food coloring we have them out freezing now, anyone ever do that? Mine did, and used food coloring in the water. It made what looked like Christmas tree ornaments, and she put them in her front yard as decorations.. Voyager
Held steady overnight at the same three degrees we had at 8:00PM last night. It was supposed to be -2 this morning. Hopefully that's a sign that the afternoon highs will be warmer than forecasted as well.

JamieOber
Drove over there about a half hour ago. Almost completely frozen, Will it stay that way through this warm spell? Probably break up. This is Wrightsville in January 1959 during a January thaw When I was a kid my dad used to take me to York Haven to check it out back in the late 70s/early 80s. The moans and gunshot cracks are so surreal. We also saw someone's bungalow get destroyed by ice.

Seems like the CMC wants to bring a couple of inches of snow perhaps? looks to be a fairly weak disturbance... if snow - maybe a dusting to an inch... with the luck we have had so far this winter I dont think there is a 100% chance we see nothing or that it doesn't over perform... but to me doesnt look to be anything more than maybe re-whiten everything before it melts by the afternoon latest NWS discussion mentioning light freezing/frozen precip possible for early Friday
