Stovepipe
To my knowledge this is the first op run where we had a full phase. That seems to be the key. It probably is a long shot that TN will be in play ultimately but it was also a long shot that it would trend 200 miles west and it has. Better keep an eye on it. zippity
I know, I know, Carver's Gap, and I admit to being a little snow crazy right now. However, the cold temps have been a real wonder to observe, and I just posted over on the obs thread about our lake, which has not frozen in the 14 years I have been here, is beginning to get a thin sheet of ice in several places. It's too big to freeze solid unless we have a mini ice age, but 1/8 frozen is pretty neat. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk HD
Stovepipe
Think the GFS is all alone, eps dont show it I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Members of the Euro EPS have certainly shown it as have SREF members. Not saying I buy it, but the possibility has been modeled for awhile. This is just the most extreme op run we've seen. Carvers Gap
Put a post in upcoming events about 18z GFS...feel free to discuss. I don't think it makes it west of the Apps, but it sure doesn't hurt to ask the question. If that sucker phases, who knows.
John1122
If it truly phases, the precip shield will be very large. The sooner the phase, the better the entire Tennessee Valley would do. Probably the next two suites of runs will approach the final solution. Although even 24 hours out, models have struggled this winter.

Stovepipe
I'm waiting for Jeff to come by and post: "Something something jet stream, something something relative humidity, something something dusting tops" He is usually the bringer of the painful dose of reality hehe. Don't get me wrong I appreciate his thoughts. Maybe he'll have a positive spin this time.
