John1122
It looks heavy enough to put down 1/2-3/4ths of an inch or so, provided it actually is able to be snow and make it to the ground. Oh, and as long as my temp cooperates and hangs around 32 or less. From what I understand, the better chance for snow is actually tomorrow. John1122
Prime example of snow when the upper atmosphere is right, Knoxville is reporting snow and 42 degrees.
John1122
And it snowed for about 10 minutes here. Barely dusted the car tops and deck.

kvskelton
Had a very light dusting of snow overnight in Church Hill, TN. Roads in eastern Hawkins County have a few scattered patches of light snow with more consistant light snow on the shoulders. It was nothing serious but enough to get my attention. Hawkins County schools are closed today. By the time I reached Kingsport around 7:30am, there was nothing on the roads and just a trace on the ground in a few areas. John1122
There has been thundersnow in SE Kentucky today from the energy rotating through the area. Sadly, it appears slightly too far north again for the rest of us. These have been about the worst producing clippers I've ever witnessed here. We have barely squeezed out a snow shower so far from any of them.
John1122
That said, we're getting about 50 flakes a minute right now. I'm not sure what OHX saw to issue that WWA for their CWA. They are giving 1-2 inches for their border counties. But I've not saw any afd where they give their reasoning.
John1122
Front has passed here, down to 32 with a full on flizzard going on outside.
Stovepipe
I'm driving to Crossville (well the wife is) and we're hitting patches of light to moderate snow at 32 degrees. Between Rockwood and Crab Orchard. Edit: really coming down good now, 27 degrees outside of Crossville. Ground starting to get white.
Stovepipe
Still moderate snow at 25 degrees in Crossville. Quarter inch on the ground.

John1122
Once it got dark, the snow turned on and I've picked up around 1 inch this evening. Still light snow falling and 20 degrees.

Blue Ridge
Snow is moderate to heavy at times. Closing in on an inch. If what is downstream is any indication, this may wind up as the best event so far.

John1122
It's another feast/famine kind of night. Get under a band, and you're good. If not, you may see a few flurries or probably nothing.

Stovepipe
The northern valley, over into TRI, looks to be getting thumped right now. Any obs over that way? West of Nashville too, hopefully temps are in check.
Carvers Gap
Returns are right over my head...nothing at the moment. Virga it appears. Will keep you posted.

John1122
Just a few flakes here with the first surge, now winds are gusty out of the WSW and the temp went up from 33 to 36.
1234snow
Nice returns have been overhead for a few hours but like others nothing has fallen yet. This winter has got some bad mojo. Only got a small dusting last night before the wind whipped it away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
John1122
JKL says the snow will mostly arrive 1 am to 6 am for their area, so I'd figure similar timing here. There's almost always going to be early virga where you barely squeeze out a flurry.

Blue Ridge
Wound up with 4" last night. That was common county-wide. Unbelievable how the band set up. I'm at the Tri-Cities Regional Airport at the moment and nothing has fallen here.
John1122
Decent returns in Middle Tennessee, in the mean time my skies have cleared completely and the temp went from 36 to 28.
